Cote D’Ivoire Stock Markets | 09 Nov 2015: Equity opens in green, BRVM Composite index adds 0.26%, BRVM-10 index 6bps ..
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, Capital Markets in Africa — BRVM (The Regional Stock Exchange of eight West Africa) closed its trading session this Monday higher than the previous day. BRVM 10 index rose from 298.84 to 299.01 points, a gain of 0.06 percent. BRVM Composite index gained 0.26 percent at 304.24 points against 303.46 points previously.
The equity market capitalization gained XOF 19.25 billion (about US$31.8 million) to close at XOF 7,507 billion relative to the previous trading sessions’ market capitalization of XOF 7,488 billion.
The market activity measured by total volume was recorded at 165,915 traded stocks relative to 51,047 recorded at the previous trading sessions. The total traded value was at XOF 3,060.210 million (against XOF 706.986 million recorded at the previous trading session) exchanged in 30 traded securities via 194 deals. Today’s top stock by volume was ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INCORPORATED TOGO with 126,064 traded securities (accounted for about 76 percent of the total volume). SERVAIR ABIDJAN COTE D’IVOIRE recorded the highest total traded value of XOF 2,286.280 million contributing nearly 74.7 percent of total traded value. The Liquidity ratio (measured by Volume traded/ Ask orders volume) ended at 28.32 percent and Price Earnings Ratio was recorded at 22.65.
From the market price movers’ perspectives, out of the 30 traded securities today, 10 stocks experienced price gains, 10 witnessed price drops and 10 stocks price remained unchanged relative to the previous closing price. On the price green zone, BOLLORE AFRICA LOGISTIC COTE D’IVOIRE emerged as the top price gainers after adding 7.50 percent to end at XOF 257,995. ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INCORPORATED TOGO gained 1.96 percent to trade at XOF 52.00 and MOVIS COTE D’IVOIRE closed at XOF 4,300 after gaining 1.42 percent. BANK OF AFRICA BURKINA FASO share price jumped by 0.87 percent to close at XOF 113,000 and SONATEL SENEGAL with a closing price of XOF 26,110 after increasing by 0.04 percent.
In the downward district, PALM COTE D’IVOIRE slipped by 3.57 percent to end at XOF 13,500 as the biggest price losers and SAPH COTE D’IVOIRE slacked by 2.61 percent to close at XOF 11,200. ONATEL BURKINA FASO slumped by 1.89 percent to close at XOF 13,000. UNIWAX COTE D’IVOIRE sagged by 1.71 percent to end at XOF 28,505 and BANK OF AFRICA NIGER shed off 1.18 percent to settle at XOF 84,000.
From the sector indices viewpoints, the industry sector index dropped 0.38 percent at 168.78 points and public utilities sector index lost 0.23 percent to end at 829.50 points. Financial services sector index surged by 0.80 percent to end at 107.74 points, but distribution sector index declined by 0.02 percent to end at 591.36 points. The agriculture sector index plunged by 2.39 percent to close at 184.15 points. The transportation sector index jumped by 7.42 percent to settle at 1,247.21 points and miscellaneous sector index remained unchanged to close at 650.31 points.
